Pique your Pinterest

I love making collections of my absolute favourite things! This passion was sparked when planning our wedding where I started to find colourful inspirations on wedding blogs, tiny trinkets on Etsy, and accessories for every aspect of our wedding all across the internet.

What I wish was created at the time was my recent discovery of the website Pinterest ( if you want to check it out... and I highly recommend that you do... just click the title of this blog). Pinterest allows me to "pin" or favourite all of my random inspirational findings on the internet. It helps to keep everything organized in any way I choose!

I just started today and made my first board of yummy things I can't wait to bake! If you want to follow my inspiration boards or start on your own inspirational discoveries, just let me know and I will send you an invite!

In the meantime... here is my first drool-worthy board "Baked Goodies".
From left to right: Smores, Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzels, Leige Waffles, Vanilla Marshmallows, Italian Peaches, Soft Chewy Pretzels, Meringue, Gooey Cinnamon Buns and Rice Krispie Peeps
If you want the links to the recipes for these goodies and can't wait for your Pinterest invite... just comment below and I will send you their links!

Ocean Blues

I'm slowly becoming disillusioned at the possibility of Spring ever arriving around these parts. With every country commute, my eyes are blinded by the sheer whiteness of my surroundings. The lack of sunshine has only managed to dampen my mood.

I decided this evening to turn my mind on what makes my happiness... The Ocean. There is no other experience like it in the world. My creativity has been waning with my patience and so to revive my being, I created the following treasury on Etsy. For those unfamiliar with Etsy... my friends you have been missing out on awesomeness! Just click on the images below and welcome to the world that is Etsy.

I hope this inspires you or brings you some form of joy during these dreary winter days!

Funfetti!

Want to bake the easiest yet tastiest cookie? Yes, that's right... I said cookie... not cake or cupcake...but cookie!
This has to be one of my most-made cookies hands down, however not very fancy or gourmet to say the least. I mostly like to experiment with my baking, but sometimes I need a quick fool-proof recipe and this one is always perfection.

Ingredients ( are you ready for the ever-so complex list??)

1/3 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 box of Funfetti or Rainbow Bits cake mix
1 can of frosting if you really want some fun!

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Shape dough into round balls and place on lined cookie sheet.
  4. Toss into the oven for around 10-12 mins or whenever you start to see the bottoms/top start to ever so slightly turn brown. You definitely don't want to over bake!
All of that hard-work and effort brings you these:

Now all I need is some frosting...

Dreaming of Sunnier Skies

Its definitely a dream as the weather here has reverted back to what it has been for what seems like an eternity. Its winter - full blast- around these parts and I can't understand why we decided to postpone our long-awaited honeymoon till July.

To help ease the long wait, I have been religiously researching warm, tropical locations for said-honeymoon only to come to the sad realization that anything warm and tropical in July also means hurricanes. We have therefore eliminated all of our chances for the Caribbean, Mexico and Florida! We have semi-decided on Hawaii but the decision on which island has brought out the indecisiveness in us both!

We've narrowed it down (we think) to the following:

MAUI

KAUAI

Where's the problem you ask? Yes, they are both stunning and a heck of a lot prettier than what is currently going on outside my window, however they couldn't be any more different. Maui is larger, more commercialized, has more amenities, larger beaches and resorts. Kauai is much smaller, select beaches, fewer amenities and resorts but not as touristy.

The adventurer in me wants to rent a Jeep, drive around Kauai, stay at our own private condo and relax, away from the crowds. However the tired soul in me wants to be catered to at a large resort, wants to shop and eat at restaurants, see the sights and enjoy the crowds.

Which would you choose?

Love is...a Cupcake!

I have eaten many a cupcake before but none so sweet as those from Crave. I have been coveting these lovelies ever since our introduction in Calgary almost 3 years ago and last week I found out that they have finally branched out and opened up a local bakery.

My first attempt at purchasing was a failure...the bakery was sold out within 2 hours and I was sadly too late. That is just how incredible these are! I re-attempted the drive and made sure to get there as early as possible...and I came home with these!

So perfectly wrapped!

Bring a smile to my face every time!

They have all been devoured since and my next goal is to attempt to bake a Crave-like cupcake once my mixer arrives. I am very glad to know though that if they don't work out that I can always just make a small trip into the city and ease my cravings!

My new *Baby*

I have been drooling over the endless possible creations one can make with the range of Kitchenaid stand mixers. I vowed that after the wedding, the professional series with bowl-lift one would be mine.

I just placed the order for a bright empire red one today and I couldn't be more excited! I absolutely love to bake and now I'm hoping this beauty will make it easier and inspire me to experiment more!

Welcome to Thy Inspired Bliss

I have been wanting to start a blog for quite some time, however with the abundance of topics out in the blogger universe, it became an overwhelming task.

I finally took the plunge today and decided this blog will reflect the things that inspire me in life. I have started to realize that, its sometimes that smallest almost insignificant things that bring out our inspirations for happiness and love.

This blog will honour all those things.
