Saturday Stuff

Its starting to get chilly around here...very chilly! We haven't seen the white stuff yet, but I know its only a matter of time.

I haven't posted a "favourites" post in a while and this being a lazy weekend for me, I've been able to collect a few items I'm currently coveting. With winter hovering just around the corner, I've started eyeing a few holiday dresses, winter coats and boots... lots of boots! A girl can never have enough boots...

The Sumptuous Satin Coat
While I absolutely adore this coat, I know its a bit impractical for the price around these parts. It would drape a party dress beautifully but then that would mean I could only wear it once or twice a year which truly wouldn't do it any justice!

Runway Lapel Coat
Perfection... need I say more? The clean and smooth lines of this beauty automatically make a it a closet classic.

Adam Organza Sequin
I almost cried when I saw this sequin dress was nowhere near my price range and then I almost cried even more when I saw that its was no longer available. Sequins and holiday parties go hand in hand and so my search continues for something similar.

From LtoR: Frye Melissa Trapunto, Frye Alex Moccasin, Frye Melissa Button

Ohh be still my heart! Do I need yet another brown boot? No...but I do want more... absolutely! I melt when I hear the word Frye and their new collection makes me jump for joy. They may not exactly 'go' with sequin dresses and gorgeous coats but I am loving them all right now.

These are my current favourites! Hope they inspire your winter fashion search!

Back Up and Running!

Guess what finally arrived in the mail yesterday? You guessed it... my long-awaited camera cord! In the time spent waiting for it to arrive, we have changed seasons out here! I had a whole bunch of summer recipes which I had baked and wanted to post, but it hardly feels right with the cool Fall air outside today and so I've had to change my posting plans.

That said, I have been wanting to challenge myself and change things a bit with this blog. I searched the web looking for blog challenges and all that continued to pop up were photography related endeavours such as "30 Photos in 30 Days"... and well, we all know I'm *not* a photographer nor do I aspire to ever be one. So, I kept coming up with nothing that I could make my own.

Then one day last week, a friend asked me for my hummus recipe and a few days after that I was asking my mother for a recipe of one of the traditional Lebanese dishes I grew up eating. It hit me... I'm going to challenge myself to cooking or baking one Lebanese dish a week for a month and posting about it, but don't worry, I will not be stopping the baking posts!

I should note that I have only ever made one or two Lebanese meals in my life ( and I don't count hummus or that garlic dip as a meal) and possibly only one dessert, so this challenge should be quite interesting!

I'm going to start this weekend and put up a post with my first "re-creation"! If you have any requests...please send them my way!

In the meantime, how can I leave this post without a pretty photo of something? Well... since its Fall... my newest love and inspiration are my Frye Carmen Harness Tall boots:

There.... how's that for Pretty?

Faves

Hmm... so lets see... two weeks in a row and I'm late in posting my "Friday Favourites"...not the best start! I should have realized that when Friday evening comes around I'm pretty much zonked out from the work week. I suppose I could begin the blog throughout the week but then again who am I kidding... I don't have that much leisurely time! I'll take it week by week!
This week my favourites were inspired by our summer-like weather! I'm getting more and more excited and re-energised as the weather warms up and so here are my favourites this week:

Zara's Spring Collection
Ohh Zara... how I adore thee! I went in today because I was drawn by the bright and bold colours of their new collection. Nothing says Spring/Summer like neon.... or maybe they are actually saying "Hey child of the nineties... this collection is for YOU!" Either way, I fell in love and walked out with these:
Bright blue and everything I could ask for!
So light and flowy!

I also really loved these but of course all the tiny feet sizes were gone so I will remain on the lookout!
Navy Stripes...enough said!
Tim Horton's Iced Cappucino
I was never one for those complicated coffees. I'm the regular cream and sugar type and the only exception I make is for an Iced Cap from Tim Hortons. I do realise though, that even these don't really classify as complicated or fancy in the least, but to me they are the absolute best on a warm spring/summer-like day... like today!
Aaahh...YUM!
Dance Beats
So what else does a girl need when driving into the city with the sunroof open and the sunshine all-around? An awesome upbeat song! This is the one I am currently obsessed with:

Spring...Is that You?

One of my favourite times of the year is when the snow starts to melt and the sun begins to shine. I get excited at the thought of dresses, sandals and sunglasses...the epitome of the spring/summer season!

While out shopping on Friday, I couldn't resist the urge to purchase some items from the spring collections currently out!
